Lets play a little game.
Go find yourself an Israeli and then ask them the following questions:
1. What is your favourite food?
2. What goes well with tehina?
3. What do you brush your teeth with?
4. If you could eat one thing for the rest of your life what would it be?
I guarantee the answers they will give you will be:
Then if you make them the following recipe you will be BFFL or is it BFF or perhaps BFFE no idea.. its been many years since I was 13 years old and last used that abbreviation.
Boil a whole lot of eggs.
Cut them in half
Spoon out the yellows…
Mix the yellows with tehina ( and when I say tehina I don’t mean store bought rubbish.. I mean PROPER tehina that you mix up yourself- think lots of lemon juice, salt, a bit of water all mixed with the tehina paste, you can add in garlic, pepper, fresh parsley)
Put the mixture back into the egg halves and sprinkle with zatar ( a spice.. no idea what its called in English- sorry not very helpful)
ENJOY- this is epic….An idea dreamed up in the crazy suburb of Nachlaot in Jerusalem on a Friday night. And then I took a sneaky photo defying the Sabbath. But this recipe is so great I had to get a photo for you guys.. taking one for the team.
Have a great week!!
